Art for ALL

Art Studios are held on:

Mondays 4:00-5:00 PM & 5:00 - 6:00PM
Thursdays 4:00-5:00PM & 6:00 - 7:00PM

Art Studio is designed to allow children of differing ages to work in small, guided groups in order to explore a variety of media, including pencils, charcoal, pastels, watercolors, and acrylics, as well as sculpture in various forms.  Accommodations will also be made to allow older students to work in a private or semi-private space to allow them the freedom to create at their own pace and explore themes in their artwork that are meaningful to them.  Students will be encouraged to learn about many different styles and types of art and feel free to experiment with what they learn in order to broaden their horizons while gaining skills and strengthening their self esteem in a supportive and nurturing environment.

PRIVATE CLASSES with Antonella

Individual art classes are reserved for students who require individual sessions short-term until they are able to join ART STUDIO.  Starting with private classes allows the anxious child time to develop rapport with Antonella and become comfortable with the environment before joining the group. Antonella is warm and nurturing, and has exceptional intuition around how to help a child express their feelings through art. We believe in empowering children. Although private art classes are usually what the anxious child wants, we feel it is in their best interest, and in line with our mission, to encourage their confidence by eventually transitioning them into Art Studio.

*We provide most materials. However, we may ask that parents provide some supplies from time to time that the artist will ultimately keep: such as sketch books, canvas, clay, or tools.

*There are times, when this creative expression in a safe place should be supplemented with additional therapeutic and/or social skills support. In such cases, we will recommend additional/appropriate services for your child as we fell it is our responsibility to provide the most appropriate and effective empowerment supports for each individual child who is part of TWC, and to communicate when we recognize that Art alone is not enough. In these cases, Antonella along with the Executive Director, will make recommendations regarding what we feel the best next step is for your child and why we feel this way.
